eStem East Village Junior High Public Charter School in Little Rock, Arkansas (food managed by K-12 by Elior) wins 3rd place in No Kid Hungry Arkansas recipe contest in celebration of National School Breakfast Week (NSBW)
This annual observance promotes the value of healthy school breakfasts. Celebrations were held throughout all K-12 by Elior schools, but East Village in Little Rock made quite the impression.
According to June Kell, K-12 by Elior food service director. “I wanted to surprise the kids and market NSBW so I added blueberries to a regular muffin mix and baked them in donut tins. I topped it off with a berry patch smoothie. The children were intrigued and surprised. They loved it!” Great job June and team for engaging your students and creating a fun way to enjoy a nourishing breakfast!
Eighth-grader Sidney Glen from eStem East Village Junior High Public Charter is enjoying this special treat.
